- Faculty of Information Technology -

The Bachelor of Technology in Web and Creative Media is an innovative degree programme designed to prepare students for the rapidly expanding digital and creative industries. This programme combines strong foundations in computing with advanced expertise in multimedia production, web technologies, creative design, and emerging digital media.

The degree is offered through two main intake pathways:

  • Weekday Intake – Primarily open to students who have completed NVQ Level 5 or Level 6 qualifications. In the event that vacancies remain after the admission of eligible NVQ candidates, applicants with G.C.E. Advanced Level qualifications or other equivalent qualifications approved by the University will be considered for admission.
  • Weekend Intake (NVQ Pathway) – Specifically designed for NVQ Level 5 and Level 6 qualified students and industry professionals seeking to upgrade their qualifications while continuing employment.

Student recruitment is conducted through a transparent and merit-based selection process. Applicants are evaluated based on academic qualifications and relevant technical or creative competencies. The NVQ pathway provides vertical mobility for vocational learners, enabling them to progress into higher education and obtain industry-recognized degree-level qualifications.

The programme develops both technical expertise and creative capabilities, enabling students to design, develop, and manage modern digital solutions. Students gain hands-on experience in web development, full-stack technologies, UI/UX engineering, mobile applications, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, while also building creative competencies in 2D and 3D graphics, animation, video production, audio engineering, photography, and mixed reality.

In addition to technical training, the curriculum emphasizes entrepreneurship, research, industry exposure, professional practices, and soft skills, ensuring graduates are well prepared for the evolving demands of the global digital economy.

Graduates of this programme can pursue careers as web developers, full-stack engineers, UX/UI designers, multimedia producers, digital marketers, creative technologists, content developers, and emerging media specialists. With its balance of technology, creativity, and industry engagement, the B.Tech in Web and Creative Media empowers students to become innovators and leaders in the digital world.
